LEGAL OPINION ON NECESSITY OF CONDUCTING AN ABOLITION OF ALIENS ILLEGALLY STAYING ON THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND

 

The Halina Nieć Legal Aid Centre would like to inform that drew up a legal opinion on necessity of conducting an abolition of aliens illegally staying on the territory of the Republic of Poland. Our initiative was backed by Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights and Rule of Law Institute. This opinion will be put forward to the Office for Foreigners and the Polish Ombudsman.

INFORMATION CAMPAIGN „WELCOME TO POLAND!”

 

On 1st July 2010 the Halina Nieć Legal Aid Centre has started realization of second phase of information campaign “Welcome to Poland!” on the area of 4 voivodeships: małopolskie, podkarpackie, lubelskie and podlaskie. Additionally – through campaign on the Internet - some of its elements have all-Polish dimension. The aim of campaign is to inform third country citizens, who stay legally in Poland, about the possibility of benefiting from free of charge both information and legal assistance, as well as to trigger positive reactions among Polish society through association with Polish traditional hospitality for newcomers.

SOCIAL CAMPAIGN „REFUGEES ALSO LIVE IN POLAND. GIVE THEM A CHANCE!”

 

In July the Halina Nieć Legal Aid Centre has started next phase of social campaign of a project “Give them a chance! – improvement of integration chances for persons applying for granting the refugee status through legal aid, counteracting violence and social campaign”. Campaign will be conducted in the form of posters, which will be distributed among other non-governmental organizations, as well as among Border Guard, Office for Foreigners, UNHCR and chosen Voivodeship Offices and universities in Poland.

Simultaneously, during period of realization of a project, information campaign among foreigners applying for refugee status in the reception centres and on the Internet is conducted.
